Mix 1:
250 grams dates
1 teaspoon bicarb
1 cup boiling water
#2 Cream:
125 grams butter
3/4 cup sugar
#3 Sift:
2 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
pinch salt
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 teaspoon ginger
Mix #1 and #2 and #3
Add 2 eggs
Bake on 375 for 3/4 hour.
Syrup:
Boil together:
1 cup water
1 1/2 cups sugar
1 tsp butter
1/2 cup brandy - add
Pour over hot cake
