Fudge

800g (4 cups) sugar
25ml golden syrup
25g (80ml) margarine
250ml milk
1 tin condensed milk
1ml salt
5ml (1tsp) vanilla essence

Place sugar, milk and syrup in a large pot
Melt over low heat 25-30minutes
Stir with wooden spoon
Increase heat to middle and add the rest of the ingredients
Boil and keep stirring 15-20minutes
Drop spoonfuls into water to see if its ok
Remove from heat, beat with electric beater for 5 minutes until thick
Place in greased tray (mark squares before it sets)
