8 - 12 Herrings - cut into pieces
½ - 1 cup brown sugar
1 ½ cups tomato puree
⅓ cup oil
¼ tsp mustard powder
½ cup chopped green pepper
1 ½ cups chopped peel of granny smith apple
1 ½ cups brown vinegar
1 cup diced pickled cucumber
1 ½ cups chopped onion
Mix brown sugar, puree, oil, pepper, mustard & vinegar.
Mix herrings and vegetables and pour over sauce
